Together, we do things better.
Whether looking to advance your career in medical research, searching for study sponsorship opportunities, or looking for a home for a local, national or international research initiative, ECU Health is a regional hub of important medical research activity. By pursuing health care solutions for tomorrow, we aim to improve the health and well-being of all those we serve.
Sponsors

ECU Health serves 29 counties across eastern North Carolina, totaling over 1.4 million residents and representing 14 percent of the region’s population. The nine ECU Health hospital locations are able to reach this patient population through research.
Federal, state, industry and non-profit partnerships are crucial elements to the success of research activity at ECU Health. We have an expert team of research nurse specialists and clinical coordinators who support our researchers. Additionally, our dedicated start-up team maintains a 30-day turnaround time for opening new studies. Partnering with your team will help us bring the best care to patients across eastern North Carolina.
If you would like to share information about a new clinical trial, we have a number of patient populations that may fit your interest, including heart failure, oncology, GI, urology and more. For more information, please contact us via email at [email protected].
Grants

ECU Health often collaborates with local, national and international organizations on initiatives that enable us to improve the health and well-being of eastern North Carolina. To that end, as our resources allow, we provide letters of support/commitment outlining our intent to partner with the applicant agency/organization on patient- and mission-supportive initiatives.
The process for securing a letter of support/commitment from ECU Health is detailed below.
Request Submission
Requests for letters of support/commitment should be submitted to the Center for Research and Grants, at [email protected] or 252-847-1177. Additionally, if the requested letter contains research components or it’s for a research study, please copy [email protected] on the email. Your request may be submitted by your agency/organization or your primary ECU Health contact for the proposed project. Required components include:
