ECU Health Home Infusion provides high-quality, cost-effective infusion therapies for many acute and chronic conditions. Home infusion therapy is a safe, convenient alternative to traditional intravenous (IV) infusions given in an inpatient hospital setting.
The dedicated pharmacy team here is experienced in home infusion therapy and is committed to providing you with personal attention. To ensure that you get the most benefit from your therapy, ECU Health Home Infusion offers:
- Access to clinical staff 24 hours a day, seven days a week
- Training, education and counseling
- Free medication delivery and medication refill reminders
- Equipment and pump management
- Coordination of prior authorization (pre-approval) with your insurance plan
- Assistance with enrollment in programs to help with the cost of your medication

In addition to our normal business hours, a nurse and a pharmacist are available by phone 24 hours a day, seven days a week for any questions or concerns you may have.
Available Therapies
Some serious bacterial infections cannot be treated with antibiotics in pill form. Instead, your doctor may prescribe IV antibiotics delivered through a thin tube into a vein. Conditions commonly treated with IV antibiotics include:
- Bacterial meningitis
- Bone infection (osteomyelitis)
- Endocarditis
- Hospital-acquired infection (e.g. MRSA)
- Infectious (septic) arthritis
- Prosthetic infection
- Skin and soft tissue infections
- Wound or surgical site infections

If you have questions or concerns about your medication, supplies or IV line, or the service you receive, call 252-816-3088 to speak with a member of the team.
Before you start treatment, you will receive a Welcome Packet. This packet contains information about ordering and storing your medications and supplies, maintaining a safe environment, troubleshooting problems with your IV, and more.
A pharmacy team member will call you weekly to confirm inventory and supplies needed for your upcoming delivery. If you want to contact us to order supplies or a medication refill, please call 252-816-3088.
If you are having difficulty with your IV line, review the Troubleshooting Guide in your Welcome Packet and follow the instructions provided. When in doubt, call 252-816-3088 to speak with a pharmacist or nurse.
ECU Health Home Infusion’s business hours are Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. We have clinical staff available in the evenings, on weekends and even on holidays to answer your urgent questions or concerns.
If you experience any adverse reactions to your infusion medication, please contact a pharmacist at ECU Health Home Infusion (24 hours a day, seven days a week) or your healthcare provider. If the reaction you are having is severe or life-threatening, call 911 immediately.
Once you have completed your treatment, please return your infusion pump and accessories, such as power packs and pole clamps, to our pharmacy. If you do not return these items, you may be asked to pay for them.
