At ECU Health, you and your loved ones are always our first priority.
ECU Health is a mission-driven health care system with nine hospitals and more than 100 clinics and practices. Our mission — to improve the health and well-being of eastern North Carolina — is in action every day through the services we provide within our facilities and out in the communities we serve.
ECU Health’s vision is to become the national model for rural health and wellness by creating a premier, trusted health care delivery and education system. As we move forward and focus on our goals, your experience — the experience of patients and families we serve — is our top priority.
At ECU Health, your care team works to ensure you receive the most appropriate care close to home and helps guide you to and through ECU Health resources across the region.
The Privilege of Partnership
At ECU Health, we believe health care is a partnership. What does that mean for you? It means empowering you to play an active role in your care. It means encouraging families and loved ones to be part of your care team and to be with you as much as possible (aligning with your wishes, of course). We put patients and families first because we are also patients and families — living and working together in this unique community we call home, in eastern North Carolina.
Preparing for Your Stay
Whether you are preparing for a visit to one of our physician offices, for an outpatient procedure, or for an inpatient stay at one of ECU Health’s hospitals, we want to help you prepare and know what to expect.
MyChart
MyChart provides easy, secure access to your own health records. Your MyChart account makes it easy for you and your care team to review important health information, view lab results, request appointments, send a message to your doctor, and much more.
Request Medical Records
To ensure coordinated quality care, medical information is often exchanged between health care professionals. This includes sending records to specialists, emergency departments, other hospitals, and more — with your request and authorization.
Partnering with You
ECU Health invites you to tell us how to best support your care needs. The Tell Us Now telephone line is available to address your concerns and receive your feedback. We offer pastoral care services, and we host patient and family advisory councils.
Your Bill
Understanding your bill for health care services can be challenging. Here, you’ll find guidance to help you understand charges and the bill itself. Frequently asked questions and a glossary of terms will help you navigate the billing.
Your Health Insurance
ECU Health facilities and providers accept and contract with most major insurance plans, including most commercial insurance companies and some Medicare Advantage plans.
