Wound care services help the healing.
The human body has a remarkable ability to heal, but not all wounds heal with traditional treatment. People of all ages may experience chronic wounds caused by diabetes, infection, injury or burns. With four wound care facilities, ECU Health knows how to treat hard-to-heal wounds and help facilitate relief. We are part of a nationwide network of wound healing centers that heal thousands of wounds every year.
ECU Health’s facilities are located in Greenville, Ahoskie, Edenton, Roanoke Rapids and Windsor and are staffed by highly skilled doctors, nurses and other providers – including certified wound specialists. Our team will assess your wound and healing challenges and review your health and medical history to fully understand your circumstances.
We know that every wound is different, so we will work with you and your personal doctor to develop a treatment plan for your specific needs. With the latest treatment options – including special dressings and wraps, debridement (removing dead or damaged tissue), biologically engineered skin substitutes, and hyperbaric oxygen therapy – we will find the best solution for you.
Why ECU Health Wound Care?
Our wound care centers are staffed with highly skilled providers who have specialized wound care training. We follow a comprehensive method to discover the exact cause of your wound and to successfully treat wounds that have not healed with traditional care.
We will share details about your wound and how we are treating it, but we will also teach you how to care for your wound at home, including dressing changes and future injury prevention.
If you suffer from chronic wounds, you likely have other health conditions that have been a factor in wound development or healing, or both. Conditions like diabetes, burns, poor circulation, obesity and even poor nutrition can all be related to chronic wound occurrence. We can consult with your doctors and welcome their participation in your wound care as well.
With five specialized wound care centers in eastern North Carolina, you’ll benefit from convenient locations close to home that give you access to state-of-the-art treatments such as hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
