ECU Health Employee Assistance Program (EAP) professionals will offer guidance and resources for coping more effectively with a variety of personal- and work-related challenges. Services include assessment, referral services and ​short-term counseling.

EAP providers are licensed with a minimum of a master’s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Counseling. Some also are Certified Employee Assistance Professionals.

You or benefit-eligible members of your family can receive up to six no-cost visits per issue, per 12 months.

Hours of Operation

Typical counseling hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Special arrangements may be made for later appointments. Emergency consultative services are available after hours.

Virtual Counseling FAQs

Virtual Counseling is currently only available with the counselors in the Greenville EAP office.

Yes! Those who would like to receive consultation regarding employee referrals may utilize virtual appointments.

Virtual consultation counseling is accessible through smartphones, tablets or computers with webcams.

Generally, counseling is available 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday. If you have a request outside of these hours, please contact our office at 252-847-4357 and we will do our best to accommodate your schedule.

The forms can be completed on your device (computer, tablet or phone) and emailed or faxed to our office.

Clients can access virtual counseling from anywhere within the state of North Carolina.

Location must have adequate internet speed. If you are able to stream videos (i.e. Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, etc.), your internet connection will be adequate for virtual counseling.
