Support groups are a great way to meet others who have experienced similar things you and your family have been through as a brain injury survivor. Meetings are open to brain injury survivors, both traumatic and non-traumatic, stroke survivors, and loved ones and/or caregivers.
The Circle of Security Parenting™ program is based on decades of research about how secure parent-child relationships can be supported and strengthened to create strong relationships that support the wellbeing of the family.
ECU Health’s Inpatient Rehabilitation (IPR) Caregiver Support Group, facilitated by the Medical Family Therapy Department, provides caregivers with an opportunity to connect with others who may be navigating similar experiences, share experiences and challenges, learn coping strategies, and receive support during the rehabilitation and transition process.
Topics discussed include the labor process, hospital birth plans, when to contact medical providers, breathing techniques, medication, self-care and methods of childbirth.
