Navigating your hospital bill.
If you have been a patient at Vidant Health (ECU Health), you will receive a statement within 30 days of your date of service. If you have health insurance, the first mailing you receive will be a financial statement – not a bill – showing what Vidant (ECU Health) has billed to your insurance carrier. Once your insurance company responds, usually within 30 days of receiving our statement, you will receive a bill outlining your remaining financial responsibility, if any.
Patients without insurance coverage will receive a bill directly from Vidant (ECU Health) for your services.
Please note that you may receive a separate bill from non-Vidant/ECU Health employed physicians for their professional fees. If you have questions about these bills, please contact your physician’s office.
