Comprehensive and personalized pediatric care.
In order to fulfill our commitment to comprehensive care for children, ECU Health Maynard Children’s Hospital offers several distinct pediatric services and specialties. Your child’s doctor and care team will include these services in the treatment plan based on your child’s unique health conditions and needs.
Anesthesia

When your child will benefit from sedation or anesthesia for procedures or surgery, our board-certified pediatric anesthesiologists strive to make the experience safe and comfortable. From newborns to teenagers, our anesthesiologists administer medications and use specialized equipment to provide anesthesia and pain management for a full spectrum of specialties and procedures.

Genetics

Genetic specialists at Maynard Children’s Hospital are physicians who diagnose and care for children and adolescents with genetic disorders, including birth defects, intellectual disabilities, autism and other hereditary conditions. Our geneticists provide information, support to you and your family, and work with your child’s pediatrician and other specialists to advise them on genetic testing and other possible therapies. Prenatal consultations may also occur during Maternal-Fetal Medicine visits.
Your child may see one of our board-certified geneticists while in the hospital, or the care team may refer you to see them at the ECU Pediatric Specialty Clinic.
