Hospital Visitation

Family members and friends are essential support for you and your child. You can determine who and how to involve them. Children under the age of 18 (including patient siblings) who are visiting are to always be accompanied and supervised by an adult.

Parents or legal guardians are welcome anytime. We encourage parents to remain at the bedside as much as possible throughout their child’s stay including staying overnight when able.

To reduce the risk of infection and promote the healing process, visitation is limited to two visitors at the bedside at a time. Visitors not remaining overnight are encouraged to complete their visit prior to 9 p.m. daily to promote a resting environment for all patients. Sibling visits can be facilitated virtually or in-person with in-person sibling visitation hours occurring from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.

Family members and visitors should:

  • Wash your hands or use hand sanitizer whenever entering and leaving the patient’s room.
  • Stay home if sick, not feeling well, or have signs of an infection or respiratory illness.
  • Follow all isolation precautions as instructed by your nurse.
  • COVID-19 requirements: Visitation changes may apply for Maynard Children’s Hospital to ensure the safety of our patients. Please click here for current visitation guidelines.
