On your journey to parenthood, we’re here with you every step of the way.
Becoming a parent is an exciting time, and ECU Health is pleased to offer you and your family support during this momentous life event.
We offer childbirth classes, sibling classes, lactation consultations, hospital tours, breastfeeding support and other support groups all across eastern North Carolina. Schedules can vary, so we encourage you to check our calendar of events often to see what is offered close to you.
Birth Companions is a volunteer service at ECU Health Medical Center that offers support to patients who are in labor. The volunteers are medical, nursing or allied health students with specialized training. Similar to a doula, the Birth Companion is here to support you through breathing techniques, position changes, and other comfort measures alongside your medical team. Ask your labor and delivery nurse if you would like more information or to request a Birth Companion to support you during labor and childbirth experience.
